Latvian Forest Owners' Association (LFOA)
is a non-govermental organization, which unites large and small private forest property owners, companies and municipalities, or the property holders. LFOA was founded in 2005.
LFOA main aim
is to promote sustainable and economically efficient forestry in Latvia.
LFOA members manage 2.02 mill. ha of forest land in Latvia, which is about 66% of the total forest area in the country (3.2 mill. ha in total). LFOA unites more than 400 direct (voting) members.
In spring 2008 the local forest owners' organizations delegated Latvian Forest Owners' Association to be their interests representing organization nationally and internationally in such organizations as CEPF, IFFA and ELO.
